Churches and sanctuaries are often complex buildings that require large column free areas.  These types of buildings require close coordination between the structural engineer and the architect and the mechanical and electrical engineers to provide the space necessary for ductwork and lighting while meeting the requirements for building layout, function, sight lines and aesthetics.
